Live performance with Perfectly Average at Trader Todd's - March 12, 2011
Learning the guitar was a struggle. But I perservered through it and look forward to sharing this skill and determination with my friends looking to pick up the guitar.
Learning the guitar has given me some special moments in life. I was able to play at my sister's wedding reception - Chicago Style - which was both an honor and a blast.
I'm no professional musician... well, I suppose that's not entirely accurate since I have received payment for performing music. In reality, in my mind, music is a hobby of mine. If I get hired to play, it's usually for an informal occasion busting out a variety of cover songs for a number of hours. While it's highly enjoyable, I get the most satisfaction from playing music through creating my own songs and recordings. Until now, only a selected few has heard any original music I've created, which is fine by me. My music isn't as complex, developed or polished as most people are used to. That is okay. For me, it's a way to express myself - a therapy of sorts to what's going on in the world.
